Roanoke Catholic Schools - 982-3532
Roanoke Catholic School is dedicated to excellence in education and to the spiritual development of youth within the framework of the Gospel and the tradition of the Catholic Church. Our fundamental task is the education of the whole person, blending learning with faith and faith with daily life. We strive to instill in our students a lifelong commitment to learning, to Christian values, and to community service. We are dedicated to achieving these goals in a supportive Christian community.

Catechist (Pre-K through High School)
This involves either leading or assisting in a classroom environment after the Sunday morning Mass.  Books and lesson plans are available and most classrooms have at least (or should have) two adult catechists.  Parents are the best teachers of their children and they can also share their abilities with others.  Men as well as women are encouraged to try their ability at least once.  7th and 8th grade are combined in one junior high class.  9th through 12th grade are combined in our Scripture Walk program.
Religious Education runs for the school year, from September through May.  Classes meet after the Sunday morning mass from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.  For more information, please contact the parish office at

Confirmation Prep Team
Confirmation preparation is a two year journey.  The First Year is an overview of the Faith and strengthening of the faith life.  The Second Year is a closer study of the gifts of the Spirit, and active participation in the life of the Church.  A minimum of 20 hours of community service is asked of the candidates and a self examination as to readiness to accept the Sacrament of Confirmation.

RCIA Team (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)
A Golden Opportunity to Share the Faith.  The RCIA Team meets with those individuals who are interested in exploring the Catholic Faith.  Listening to their Faith journey stories and sharing our story and vision of what it means to be a true Christian.  Hopefully such that the individual would choose to follow Jesus Christ in the Catholic Tradition; but at a minimum, such that they would know the love of Jesus for them and others.

Adult Formation
This ministry explores the faith by studying the Scriptures and the teachings of the Church as an avenue for continuing growth for the committed Catholic.  This could be through Bible Study, Just Faith sessions, and numerous other avenues.  Click Here for more information.

Youth Ministry
This ministry involves becoming active with the youth of the parish and leading them into seeing their faith in action as well as providing them with an opportunity for social interaction with peers who have the same values. Faith and Fun, also opportunity to interface with the larger Diocesan Youth Ministry group at the annual Retreat for Youth and Summer Camps etc.  Click Here to visit our Youth Group Page

 Vacation Bible School
In early July, our parish joins with other faith communities in the Fincastle area for an ecumenical program of Christian faith for all children of Botetourt.  Vacation Bible School is directed toward children in Pre-K through 5th grade.  Older children have the opportunity to assist in organizing activities, and adults are always needed to share their faith.  Click Here to see what a great time we had at Fiesta in 2007.
